Superannuation the smart way

Do you feel that the way your superannuation is going it is simply not going to cut the mustard when it comes to your retirement? You are not the only one! For most Australians, their superannuation will not be enough in retirement. The thing is though, you can absolutely create a rocking superannuation fund if you know the tricks.

By the way, the trick is not just to save a couple of dollars a week in fees, what you need is a strategy designed to get you to an end goal. And it is never too late. Obviously the earlier you get advice, the better off you will be and the more likely it is you will achieve your goals – but don’t ever think “it is too late for me!” – Because it is not!

How to get started with your superannuation strategy

The first step is to understand that super is an important long term investment vehicle – and that’s all it is. Income and capital growth is taxed at a maximum of 15%, not your marginal tax rate of say 32.5% or even 45%. To this end it can be a smart place to invest if you have a well chosen product with plenty of investment options.

Next, start to consider what is important to you. This could be income created by your superannuation investments, long term growth of your account, security, or maybe a combination of all of these things.

Once you have a clear idea about what is important to you, then you can start to take action on setting up a plan to achieve this or call in some help to make it happen.

Your superannuation really can have SUPER powers!!!

Did you know that with a net return of just 8%pa an investment can go from a balance of $0 to $150,000 in 20 years by depositing only $60 per week?!?!

There are loads of strategies available – just depends on your circumstances as to which superannuation strategies will suit you best. Even just using the $60 per week deposit example above, there are a number of ways you can deposit this to your super and each different strategy will have its own pros and cons. What’s important is that the strategy is right for you in terms of your current situation AND whatever it is you wish to achieve from your investment.
